Hi there! The purpose of the Resource Center is to connect speed skaters and families with sources of information. Whether you are a beginning speed skater, an elite skater, or an adult looking for an enjoyable way to stay active, the sport of speed skating offers something for everyone! We hope you find this directory helpful. Please take advantage of the vast amount of information to be found via redirects on our links page.
Where to start: the beginning! If you don't know the first thing about the sport of speed skating, you're in good company! Every successful speed skater had a first time on the ice, wore speed skates for the first time, attempted cross-overs for the first time. Their parents probably had to learn right along with them: how to mold and tie skates, sharpen blades, read schedules at a competition (how come it only says when the first race starts?)...and not always getting things right the first time. Learning is a process and with speed skating, there's so much to learn! Fortunately it is as rewarding as it is challenging.
Please let us know if we can help you in any way! Happy speed skating!
